Established in 2008, Sub’baatar Sandwiches is in essence a modified Subway, a unique concept in Mongolia.Ideally located in the very heart of the Ulaanbaatar residential and commercial districts, it serves as a platform for deliveries and street walk-ins.

It is a product that has proven hugely popular in the rest of Asia with Subways and other sandwich shop now occupying every major street corner fighting for space with the other great import from the land of Satan; Starbucks.

Mongolia is at an interesting point in its development; it has moved at breakneck speeds over the past few years and is just about to break into improvements in the services sectors. Customers are more demanding, requiring better levels of services and more choice.

Sub’baatar Sandwiches was started by three investors who are passionate about food and sandwiches. The shop has now grown to include a summer terrace and every month brings new improvements to the shop.

We started by serving a primarily expat community but as the concept is starting to spread and every day brings more adepts, it is becoming popular with the young mongolians who like the idea of choice and good quality foods at affordable prices.

The business is of course very seasonal with high peaks during the summer months when we benefit from high foot traffic while winter is practically only deliveries. Our current location serves us well in terms of foot traffic but is also a good starting point for deliveries as it is located in the very centre of the city.

Plans are currently being prepared to open a new location within a high concentration office tower to retain some winter time foot traffic and better serve our primary customers.
